Glamorous Sydney duo Ibby and Romel are keen to clear up any confusion straight away … no, they are not in a relationship!
In fact, it was Ibby’s break-up with his girlfriend of seven years that propelled him to accept friend Romel’s offer to join him on My Kitchen Rules.
“We had a conversation about it before we started,” Romel recalls. “The minute we got on the show we made it extremely clear that we are not partners, we’ve never shared a bed, we’ve never seen each other naked. We are like brothers – as far as I am concerned, he’s got zero genitals.”
However, business owner Ibby says he was prepared for people to think he and model agency owner Romel were in a relationship.
“Everybody will assume that we are a couple,” he says.
“I made the point straight away in the first Instant Restaurant, ‘guys, we’re not a couple, I’m straight!’” Everybody’s going to think I’m gay! I’m going to have no girlfriends for the rest of my life now,” he adds, laughing.
Both currently single, Ibby and Romel say they are open to love but aren’t actively looking to meet anyone at the moment.
