Just days after they celebrated their one year wedding anniversary, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been rocked by claims Meghan secretly texted former X Factor star Matt Cardle.
According to The Sun, Meghan and Matt were chatting online back in 2015 – just months before the former Suits actress met Prince Harry.
“Matt followed Meghan initially in early 2015 because he thought she was a beautiful star from Suits,” a source told the publication.
“But he was stunned when she followed him immediately back and started messaging him.”
At the time, Matt, 36, was starring in West End musical Memphis.
“Matt couldn’t believe a Hollywood star like Meghan would even know who he was so he was very flattered.”
The source continued: “They chatted a little bit online before she suggested meeting up.”
It is understood that shortly after suggesting the pair catch up, Matt met another girl and so therefore felt it was wrong to pursue things with Meghan, who then went on to meet her Prince charming.
On May 19, Meghan and Harry took to Instagram to mark their one year wedding anniversary by sharing never-before-seen photos from their wedding day.
