House Rules teams Tim and Mat, and Shayn and Carly locked horns once more on tonight’s episode.
The battle royale began when Shayn and Carly were immediately drawn to the outdoor lounge, but so were Tim and Mat.
Both teams went head to head in a stand-off for the outdoor lounge.
After a tense stand-off Tim suggests a solution – if Tim and Mat give Shayn and Carly the lounge area at this reno, Shayn and Carly must give Tim and Mat the zone they want at the next reno if a problem like this presents itself again.
But the Queensland couple were not impressed.
“I love how you say you’re gonna give us it, when it’s not your zone,” Carly said.
“That’s a bit of a dick move… I don’t want to start anything I want to do a good job for Lisa and Andy”
After a lot of awkwardness, the teams decide to make the deal that Shayn and Carly will take the outdoor lounge.
However, New Idea spoke exclusively with both teams about the incident and it seems there’s more to the encounter than meets the eye….
Carly: I think it was because at that stage, particularly at Campbelltown just before exteriors, we didn’t know if it was personal. And we walked to talk to Tim and Matt about it but they didn’t seem so interested. So, we were like, “Okay, we’ll just leave it at that.” And when we came into that first exterior, we were like, “Okay, obviously something is going to need to be said because we are still working pretty close together.” And we actually loved the boys when we first started the renos. We would laugh at them all the time.
Tim: I think they got in their own heads a bit. I think they actually probably got in their own heads, and started to make more of things than what was there, and in the end I think they almost imploded. I sort of said that to Carly, “I think you might have read into social cues heavily and got in your own heads”, and then something that’s usually trivial to somebody, something that’s a bit sad, she’s read into it too much and started to question why did that person said that, “maybe that person was grumpy at me”, you know what I mean?
