It’s all happening on Home and Away. Raffy (Olivia Deeble) is thrilled! Alex (Zoë Ventoura) has found  a new medical marijuana trial for her to go on. This is exactly what the epileptic teen has been hoping for.

“Raffy has been through such an ordeal -– it’s been one thing after another,” says Olivia. “She really wants to be a doctor, but seems to have so many massive barriers in her way. Now she is finally given hope with this trial, and she is so excited.”

However, there’s a catch, says Alex – and it’s a big one. The trial is in Victoria, which would mean Raffy having to leave her friends and family in the Bay to move to the southern state.

But before Raffy has the chance to respond, Justin (James Stewart) shuts down the possibility of his younger sister relocating to Victoria.

Will Raffy be able to convince Justin to reconsider?

Raffy (Olivia Deeble) narrowly escaped death in a horror tunnel collapse last year, only to be diagnosed with epilepsy as a result of her injuries.

Ten medicinal clinics in Victoria were announced last year, the first of their kind in Oz, however, the product is expensive due to its exclusivity.

According to published reports, ‘Australian patients spend $370-a-month for legal cannabis treatment.’

Says actor Orpheus Pledger of including real-life issues on the show: ‘The storyline is absolutely controversial. It is a hugely current discussion but the feedback I have had has been really positive.

‘There’s so much research that goes into it, so something as controversial as medicinal marijuana, we don’t do it with our eyes closed.

‘We put as much work into it as we can so people get a real up to date perception of it.’
