Ex Home & Away star Dan Ewing hits out at Daily Mail over ‘bogan wedding’ headline

He and girlfriend Kat Risteska didn’t hold back

Former Home and Away star Dan Ewing and his girlfriend Kat Risteska have hit out at Daily Mail Australia – after the publication questioned whether the wedding of Kat’s brother was ‘the most bogan ever?’

Prior to the story going live, Kat had taken to Instagram to share videos of several colourful cars performing burnouts on her brother’s big day – which was held on Nov. 24.

The brunette looked stunning in a silver bralette and matching wide leg trousers, from designer House of CB while Dan kept it simple in a black suit, and a white button up shirt.

In an article published on Jan. 7, Daily Mail published details of the nuptials attended by Dan and Kat – labelling them ‘eye-brow raising’.

The article’s headline questioned: ‘Is this the most bogan wedding ever?’

In response, former Home and Away star Dan took to Instagram to repost what he called Kat’s ‘dignified response to a disgusting racial and cultural attack by @dailymailau’.

‘We live in a world where we are taught to not stereotype people or make racial comments depicting ones socio-economic status,’ Kat wrote in her own post.

‘Daily mail, this time you have taken this too far and I am disgusted in how you have belittled my ethnic heritage which I have only ever been proud of.

‘You have ruined such a special day for my family by using words such as “the most bogan wedding ever?”.

‘Bullying is not okay in any walk of life and as an advocate against bullies I will stand up for my own mental health and my loved ones,’ Kat went on, in her lengthy post.

‘A person’s postcode does not dictate their status or value in this world. Today on the 7th of January, being such a special holy day and as a proud Macedonian woman I celebrate Orthodox Christmas along with the rest of our Orthodox community.

‘This obvious attack on our community and culture is unacceptable and will not be tolerated…’
