On Wednesday, ‘The Bachelor’ veteran Alexandra Nation announced she landed an exciting new role on yet another reality show franchise – Teen Mum.
Taking to Instagram, the mum-of-one told her 123K followers that she will be acting as a correspondent for Teen Mum Australia, helping the young mothers on the show navigate their way through parenthood.
While many people applauded Alex’s latest venture, not everyone was so happy.
In fact, Alex copped a fair bit of backlash online.

New Idea (yes, us) posted the exciting news on our Instagram account, and instead of receiving floods of well-wishers many people voiced their unfavourable views on Nation’s new reality TV role.
“How the hell is she a good mentor for young teens?” wrote one social media user.
“How can she be a mentor for young teens really don’t think she a good role model,” wrote another critic.
Going to the comment section, Alex defiantly hit back at the online trolls, choosing to take the higher ground by wishing her haters nothign but ‘wonderful things’.
Many people soon jumped to Nation’s defence, commending the reality star’s latest big step forward.
“I couldn’t think of a better person! Can’t wait to tune in ❤️”, wrote one fan.
While another fan applauded Alex helping other young mums through the difficult journey of motherhood: “So many teen mums need help and guidance, what an amazing opportunity.”
The iThe Bachelor season four winner gave birth to her son Elijah when she was just 18-years-old, and having been both a reality TV star and young mum we can think of no better person to take on the role as ‘mentor’!
Teen Mum Australia follows mothers Sita, Ammi and Georgie, and premiers on July 7th.
